Types of Trapping:
What influences trapping prices: Each job is unique and prices will vary depending on type of job and equipment used. The time of year will also have a impact on pricing due to babies being born. In the very beginning young animals will have to be removed by hand, later traps will be primarily used. All wildlife born during the year will have to be old enough and strong enough to make it through the winter as the mating season and birth will start a new.
Roof Pitch: Gaining access to animal entry points for trapping and repair can require multiple ladders or special equipment to safely gain access to these areas. This type of work is usually restricted to Squirrels and Raccoons. Sealing homes for bats can be at multiple heights or levels of a roof depending on the style of home. I have tools needed to perform work at different heights up to 35 working feet. I do not repair roofing or replace shingles but I will repair soffits and offer proofing to reinforce soffit material. A roofing contractor should be contacted if you need extensive repairs, or insurance may handle some claims.
Ground Trapping: Is Useful in so many ways and has more than one function. The picture to the left shows two of 9 skunks that were caught on this property as part of a regional population reduction effort. Trapping on the ground is done two ways, one is closed and the other open to what ever walks by for the most part. Removing a particular animal in open trapping takes skill and proper trap size and sometimes its not always a 100%. Trapping on the ground is used for population control of Rabbits, Skunk, Raccoons, Mole, and Vole. Commercial properties such condo complexes, arenas, and golf courses may need a inspection first. Please have full details on your expectations when you call.
Water Trapping: Is for the removal of Muskrat and Beaver in retention ponds, lakes, and other waterways were these aquatic rodents can be a nuisance. These rodents cause a great deal of damage to landscaping plants and trees surrounding the waterway. Beaver and muskrat will dam culverts with debris causing water drainage problems. To remove this type of wildlife traps are set underwater to greatly reduce catching non target animals and to keep the public safe. Underwater trapping can be done year round even under ice.
For any type of trapping project their are two major parts to the job, one is setting up the equipment and the other is trap checking and maintenance. Traps are checked daily by myself with no exceptions, any animals caught will be removed and dealt with according to Illinois state laws. I have a base price for a set amount of time and a certain amount of days, with no extra charge for the number of animals captured. Any more time needed to complete the work will be billed at a hourly rate.
