Ah great stuff, the number one product I love to charge to remove because it is improperly used by the customer. Pay no attention to the instructions on the label that pesky reading will only save you money. Yes ! great stuff does fill cracks ( BUT ) It does not hold up at all to direct sunlight. It is made for a interior crack and crevice sealer to stop outside air from getting in and running up the heating bill. This spray insulation foam does not keep out Honey Bees or Hornets they will chew right through it. Spray foam insulation will also hold moisture and could rot out surrounding wood if not sealed properly. Using great stuff is not a proper sealant to keep wildlife from entering your home. Sealing a home properly to keep wildlife and insects out can take a variety of materials or sometimes new construction.
There are many different types of sealants on the market, the two main types are silicone base and latex base. If you are looking to remove the caulk within a period of time latex is the way to go. If you are looking for something more permanent look at silicone based sealers. Each type of sealant is marked for a individual job such as concrete sealer, aluminum sealer, and wood sealant. Each type of caulk has a temperature threshold where it will not set up below a certain temperature.
